"A Bias Towards Action"
“Investor Gathering - Accelerating the Flow of Capital”
Thursday, May 2, 2013 | 9:30 AM – 5:00 PM // Location: Aspen Institute, D.C.
Led by the Executive Team and Founder of Stanford's d.school and the founder of Unreasonable, this private event will represent a convening of top impact investors, venture capitalists, foundations, wealth managers, family offices, foundations, and agency directors. This immersive, fast-paced experience will teach the hands-on process of design thinking, and will provide creative tools to apply it to specific complex problems. Specifically we will be exploring the complexity of capital markets as applied to investing in startups that can change the world for the better. Together we will be joined by 15 startups with operations in over 30 countries to explore world class investment opportunities and re-evaluate our conceptions of what is possible in emerging markets. These startups have already generating tens of millions in revenue and many have raised multiple rounds of investment. Beyond profits, they are impacting millions of individuals directly with their technologies, and have achieved operational scale in over 30 countries and 5 continents.
The ultimate goal of this Investor Gathering goes beyond the incredible deal flow and is aimed at answering a broader question: how can we best support the next generation of entrepreneurs and accelerate the flow of capital into startups that are solving seemingly intractable social and environmental challenges.
